A little bit of control practice on Monday when the circuit became a touch slippery.

For safety readons we decided to call it a day doing our high speed laps and get into some other fun stuff.

Did the track dry out

I’ve owned 3 Ferrari - the classic 458, 488 and F8 Tributo. I’ll put it out there - the F8 was the best of all!

Today it departed the stable as part of a reshuffle of the garage. It’s amazing what the birth of a granddaughter and wider family priorities does to your motivation and perspective.

So, we’re now a Ferrari free household.

The mission was set a few weeks back to shuffle a fun, track demon (600LT) and the road trip cruiser (F8) into one replacement vehicle. One car that should fulfil both tasks was the challenge. Today with the F8 sale, we’re a step closer to the goal!

Bring it on 😊

Not quite the size you were thinking Karl

You gave your granddaughter a Ferrari?

I have a few of the carbon parts that used to be on your 458 😅 a good friend of mine removed them.

End of an era. It was sad to see the McLaren 600LT drive away this morning. Someone’s going to get a great car when McLaren list it, so watch that space!

It’s time for me to be rational. The goal being to move 2 cars into 1 car that’ll fulfil both needs i had of these 2. (F8 will be sold next)

I’ll not decide on the replacement until I know the F8 has sold - that unknown creates excitement that’ll fill the void.

Beautiful GT2RS

Oooh we are intrigued to see what can replace these two, a tough act to follow!

And I thought you were taking one of your beauties for another spin 😞 I have an offer too good to refuse- swap my masser for the F8 😜

Time for some new shoes! Pirelli Trofeo going on with all of 4mm tread from new. Great tyres for the dry!!!

Thanks to Pirelli for their sponsorship and Tyretech for expert fitting and balancing.

If you’re serious about being safe on the road or track, it’s always best to get the right advice and have right tyres on! I was previously ill advised by another tyreshop, so the Cup 2s are heading into retirement and I now do everything through these guys. Chris is awesome 🙌🏻

Best in the business, got mine done last week. 10 year old Cup2’s weren’t any good for anything.

Fat bottomed Porsches. You’ve got to love them! The 993 4S has the turbo body, running gear and big red brakes - just missing the turbo oomph!

Well yesterday I sold the 993 4S to a new owner that loves the car as much as I have. I just didn’t drive the car enough to warrant retention …plus it’s nice to have some cash for other things. Hmmm maybe some more travel and life experiences that are worth more than a pretty car in the garage 🤔

Looks like a great day out. Makes the weekend sacrifice all worth it :)

Wow I'm envious guys, rock on and smoke it.

I normally dont work on weekemds as i know the value of time and relaxation. But today and yesterday i started work at 5:30am! “I normally only get up before 5am if im going fishing” was ringing through my head.

The positive is that I got to drive the Ferrari F8 Tributo to motivate & remind me why i was awake before the birdsong! It’s all about what comes out of hard work - the privilege of greater life experiences!

Passers by pop over and check the car out all of the time. I love the smiles they get just looking at it.

I’ve posted this to highlight that most people only see the “results” of hard work - not the sweat, hours and sacrifices that people make to get ahead in life. Sure, enjoy your weekend but ask yourself what sacrifices you’ve made recently to create betterment in your and the life of those around you.

I have a simple philosophy …no pain:no gain!

It is not as social media too often portrays!

You need to have focus, discipline and work bloody hard to get ahead both financially, spiritually and emotionally! I once read as a young man - “the world owes you nothing” and I knew in that moment, we all need to get off high horses and make it happen ourself!

As much as I’d have loved the weekend off, I’ll now be able to spend tomorrow with a great group of our Club members at a race circuit.

I’ll be in another toy and will head there knowing i sacrificed my weekend, time with family, catching up with people and a real painful one - not being able to fish on a sunny, flat water day!

I’ll really enjoy tomorrow and people around me will have little idea of the sacrifices I’ve made to create an experience for them. They shouldn’t have to think about them either - they have their own story and I’ll have little idea of the sacrifices they’ll have made to get there. The important thing is being in the moment and sharing an experience that easily surpasses the pain everone took to get there!

That’s the point - everyone has a story. Everyone has made sacrifices.

I stopped doing a lot of social media as too many people are misled by it. It’s not about the car you drive - it’s all about values, hard work and learning the drivers story!

Get out there and make sacrifices. It’s hard at the time, but creates better outcomes, memories and awesome stories!

Man, I get nervous about the rims on my old Audi when replacing the rubber - but a GT2 RS! I might need medication.💊

If you’re into technical builds and learning more about how an engine, transmission, gearbox, clutch, suspension, etc… work, this P1 LEGO technic build is such a cool way to pass the time these holidays. 3,893 pieces of fun.

Loving every minute of this build! Who needs to spend millions to appreciate the engineering prowess of a McLaren P1 😆🤭

Merry festive season everyone! It’s important to take a break and do something out of your normal, busy routines each year.

That’s one reason why I get a Lego technic model each Xmas. Great fun to build, relaxing and you really can appreciate engineering and design when you make these models. From the engine build (yes you create 6 cylinders that function), suspension, aero… it’s all something different from my daily finance world and SoNZ activities yet somewhat related.

Enjoy your Xmas break and do something different. Bring on 2025!!!

That’s awesome. I had the privilege of riding in 3 of your cars, & loved them all. Your members were very generous & put on a great show.

That was so much fun and glad we raised that much 🤩

If you like cars, Hampton Downs was the place to be today. Great weather, the noise, smell of race gas & a waft of tyre smoke adding to the experience!

Regardless of the car you drive, they are levellers & bring people together from all walks of life.

A few of us picked up passengers waiting as “hitchhikers” during the controlled speed laps. Imagine a GT2RS, Lambo STO & Tecnica, and a Porsche turbo, GT4RS all turning up as track Uber rides and giving some unexpecting members of the public an experience.

Their smiling faces, thank you’s and handshakes of appreciation made all our drivers glad we use our cars and remember back to when we dreamt of having a ride in a nice machine - let along getting to own one one day!
