This is my halo car! Being 1 of 3 Le Mans winner’s editions in the world, it’s quite a rare beast! The cars were awarded as a gift to the 3 Porsche Factory Le Mans winners from 2017 and this one was issued to kiwi driver Earl Bamber. It’s the only right-hand drive & the two left-hand drive cars remain in Europe. Every option box was ticked plus there’s driver specific modifications unique to each car.

The care has an illuminated plaque with the 3 winner’s signatures to commemorate the Le Mans win. Earl Bamber & Mark Webber drove this car at Leadfoot Festival in 2019 and Earl put on 1,800km before I acquired it. Having put 8,000km on this car myself, it’s a total blast to drive and the excitement never gets old. I am now pulling back trips in the GT2RS due to its strong provenance and collectability. Earl’s handover advice was simple. “Always warm up the tyres or she’ll bite!”

I’ve always loved Ferrari – that man:machine spiritual connection is second to none. I sold my 488GTB and quickly regretted it so jumped on this car when it became available in 2021. This car is nimble, fast, comfortable and guarantees a smile for every mile. It’s a car I always stop and look back at when I walk away. The design elements are striking and it sounds pretty good too!

Most people don’t know too much about the background of this model – the Tributo is Ferrari’s last hoorah to the mighty V8! Ferrari designers & engineers incorporated their favorite design elements from past generations of Ferrari V8s. There’s the engine straight out of the mighty Pista, plus the bonnet s-duct, the slotted plexi-glass engine bay cover (F40) & twin round tail lights paying homage to the F430, F355 & 308GTB.

It was my dream as a kid to own a Lamborghini, I loved every model since the Countach. My drive to succeed in business hinged around owning a Lambo, and here it is! I wasn’t disappointed, it’s an amazing car in every way, can’t beat the sound of a naturally aspirated engine, and the Spyder adds an extra dimension that you can’t get bored of.

I’ve had several Porsches over the years and then moved to a 720s McLaren and now have a Porsche GT3 – have to say of all the high performance cars I have owned this GT3 is the one that gives me ultimate enjoyment and driving it at Pukekohe before the track closed was a highlight!

Having known Amanda McLaren for over 20 years and having had the chance to visit the factory and have her give me a behind the scenes guided VIP tour in 2016, it was opportune to be able to live the dream and buy a brand new McLaren 650s. We have Porsches and Ferraris in the family, but the McLaren 650 S is just so nice to have and to drive.

“I always loved the Lamborghini look, right from when I was a schoolboy, when the Countach was on the Gillette tv ad. In 2021 I ordered my Huracan STO which arrived late 2022, an awesome track day car which is way better than the driver. Being a member of SONZ has given me opportunities to meet like minded people and make some awesome friends, weather it’s for a casual Sunday drive with lunch, a week away touring some incredible roads or a track day at some of New Zealand’s great tracks, I always come home with a big grin on my face.”

In 2008 my family visited the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata and after the tour I said I had to own one of these as they were so passionate about what they build and that Lambo sound! Four years later I was lucky enough to purchase my first Lambo, a white Gallardo 2WD and have admired the progress they have made with each model since. I have since owned a Huracan 2wd and now am lucky enough to own a 2017 Aventador S – I say my first real Lamborghini with the V12 and scissor doors
