Our present members drive Aston Martin, Audi RS, BMW M Series, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, McLaren, Mercedes AMG, Porsche… all brands are welcome around here and it adds to the unique experiences we create.
Having worked hard to own various brands of sports cars and supercars, Neil has always liked to drive them as they’re meant to be experienced. The problem he encountered was that dealer organised events were focused on one sole brand, were infrequent, expensive and there was that ever present sales agenda in the background. All Neil wanted was to drive and meet mates to share the fun with, so he a made a decision to do something about it!
The rest is history. SoNZ was created in July 2019 with a key goal achieved – bringing sportscar and supercar owners together through SoNZ’s drivers club. This is a private, cost effective & tightly-controlled club enabling owners to get out and enjoy their cars in a safe environment – whether on the road or at an instructed performance driving track event. SoNZ has run over 38 successful & incident free events (as at August 2023). These range from casual weekend cafe drives, track days, club dinners, extended weekends away and an incredible 14-day South Island Tour in March 2022. Our members appreciate that it truly is next level driving with a variety of marques in a convoy. The open road & track create fine memories when you look in front or in the rear vision mirror!
Our proudest achievement remains – that despite our growth, we’ve maintained the original club culture of “mates having fun” and a “no idiot” policy which has created a level of full trust in each other. This truly is critical for peace of mind, safety and enjoyment of events. We’ve unintentionally created an incredible network of successful owners who have become great mates. We enjoy unparalleled camaraderie that is unique and treasured by all. We maintain this through a tight referral process and vetting criteria.
